Results: The project was completed on time, within budget, and exceeded the client’s expectations, earning praise from all stakeholders.
Activities: We collaborated closely with the client’s end-user to phase the program effectively, ensuring timely access to critical areas. We secured all necessary Facilities Management Team permits, led daily briefings, and completed sign-off documents for each area as they were handed over, addressing any snags before completion. The project concluded successfully with a comprehensive handover, including a detailed completion document and the O&M Manual.
The deliverables involved the following:
- Fabric, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works were achieved in the back-of-house areas.
- Refurbishment of WCs, Tech Offices, Bar Areas, Offices,
- Housekeeping Stores and Reception Areas
- Wall and floor tile installation
- Decoration
- HVAC
- Doc-m pack installation
- Worktop installations
- Small power and lighting installation
- Adjustments and extensions to existing plumbing to suit new layouts.
- Installation of ceiling hatch installs and vinyl flooring.
Challenges: We faced and overcame challenges collaborating with the Facilities Management team and client-nominated subcontractors. A mid-project change in the client brief led to several change requests. We were also challenged with a phased program, completing specific rooms by set dates due to staff moves; we achieved this by providing weekly progress reports to keep all parties updated.
Successes: Our proactive approach to up staffing and effective communication ensured seamless access for contractors, minimizing delays and safety concerns. We also met the client’s additional requirements and completed the project on schedule.
